Josh has spent the last 9 years leading research projects and building educational programming in Lean manufacturing and operations effectiveness specifically for printers and print companies seeking to improve productivity and business processes. Before joining the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Josh headed up the research and training department to the Landmark Groups Centre for Value Improvement and the Centre for Excellence in Print Media at NorQuest College. Ramsbottom has worked directly with printers across Western Canada to implement Lean manufacturing techniques and staff training programs to improve productivity and eliminate waste in their organizations. He has also instructed and led graphic design and multimedia programs at the University of Alberta’s Technology Training Centre, Guru Digital Arts College, and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He has spoken on Lean manufacturing for the Graphic Communications Industries at PRINT, GRAPH EXPO, Graphics Canada, Print World, as well as at numerous academic and industry events.
